Old Fashioned Ranch Dip

*You can find my updated ranch dressing recipe on new blog - cookingglutenfree.blogspot.com!

This is a good homemade dairy-free ranch dip recipe that I always have on hand at my house. It can also easily be converted to ranch dressing recipe by adding a milk alternative to thin out as needed. I hope you enjoy it!

1/2 tsp salt

1 garlic clove, chopped

1 C Veganaise mayo

1/2 C Tofutti sour cream

1 1/2 Tbsp dried parsley or 1/4 C chopped fresh parsley

1 tbsp. chopped fresh chives

1 tsp. dried dill or 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill

1 tsp lemon juice

1/2 tsp. gluten free dairy free Worcestershire sauce (optional)

1/4 tsp. paprika

1/2 tsp black pepper

dash of Franks Red Hot, optional

1. In large bowl, sprinkle the salt over the garlic and, with the back of a knife or spoon, mash together to make a paste.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl. Stir together gently, adjusting the seasonings as needed.

3. Chill at least 30 minutes before serving. Thin with a milk alternative if needed.

I found this recipe last week and I wanted to thank you for sharing it with all of us. This is a wonderfully delicious dip or dressing. It actually is better than the original hidden valley ranch recipe. The lemon juice wakes up the flavors of the herbs and every bite provides a burst of fresh flavor that cannot be found in processed dips and dressings. The only problem is it doesn't last long. Everyone loves it soooo much, they eat it up quickly. Even non-gluten and casein free people love this. Thank you so much again. Can;t wait to try some of your other recipes.
